Why study B.S. Medical Technology at SSLC?
The BS Medical Technology program of South SEED-LPDH College is designed to provided an in-depth theoretical knowledge and laboratory skills necessary for sample collection and preparation, actual analysis and interpretation of results. Its curriculum is enhanced and compliant with the CHED Memorandum No. 13 series of 2017. It is a four-year degree program; 3 years academic and 1 year hands on clinical laboratory experiences. On-campus courses are taught in a well-equipped classrooms and laboratories where students have all the opportunities to practice their skills prior to the internship. In their clinical rotations, the students gain hands-on and real world experiences in the hospital laboratories.
All throughout the program, personal and professional developments are given emphasis. As part of curriculum requirements, students take Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC’s) every semester. These courses enhance better their knowledge on Medical Laboratory Science. Students are also encouraged to join and present their research papers in research fora.
The College maintains affiliations in the Philippines and abroad. SSLC- College of Medical Technology is an active member of the ASEAN Association of Schools of Medical Technology (AASMT); and the Philippine Association of Schools of Medical Technology and Public Health, Inc, (PASMETH). Students are members of the Philippine Society of Medical Technology Students (PHISMETH). The students participate in various activities initiated by PASMETH, PHISMETHS and Philippine Association of Medical Technologists, Inc. (PAMET). SSLC is affiliated with the country’s notable hospitals such as the Las Piñas Doctors Hospital, East Avenue Medical Center and Philippine Heart Center.

The vision of the Medical Technology Program is to become the preferred choice for students who pursue a career in Medical Technology through its alignment of programs with the evolving needs of the agencies which it serves and the provision of a student-centered learning environment that fosters lifelong learning, leadership and continued intellectual development.
Mission
Building upon the vision and missions of the Allied Health Programs of SSLC, the mission of the Medical Technology Program is to prepare students for successful careers in Med Tech therein, to foster responsible citizenship and to promote lifelong learning through partnership with healthcare providers and facilities to prepare students for rapidly changing careers.
Overview/Program Description
Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology/Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science (BSMT/BSMLS) is a four-year program consisting of general education and professional courses. The fourth year level is the internship program of one (year) in a CHED-accredited training laboratory with rotational duties in different sections such as Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunohematology (Blood Banking), Immunology and Serology, Urinalysis and other Body Fluids (Clinical Microscopy), Parasitology, Histopathologic/Cytologic Techniques, and the emerging field of Molecular Diagnostic.
BS Medical Technology is the most preferred preparatory degree program for students who want to take Doctor of Medicine as their professional courses are aligned with Medicine. A graduate of BS Medical Technology may want to pursue advanced education like Masters Degree and Doctorate Degree. Furthermore, one may also find humble rewarding careers in the field of research and academe.
