Southville Global Education Network (SGEN) brought campus life to a whole new dimension during the SGEN Open House last November 29, transforming the event into a memorable “Stranger Things”–themed experience. Students from different schools and year levels arrived eager to explore the world of Southville and learn more about the programs offered across SISC, SISFU, and Southville International Medical Health Sciences Institute (SIMHSI).
Guests enjoyed moving through various themed games and activities that added a fun, adventurous twist to the day. Prospective students interested in joining Southville had the opportunity to take admissions exams on-site, making the Open House not only exciting but also a practical gateway into their future academic journey.
A standout feature of the event was the vibrant participation of SIMHSI’s healthcare programs. Students from Medical Technology, Radiologic Technology, and Pharmacy prepared their own booths, each showcasing laboratory equipment, practical demonstrations, and career pathways within their fields. Visitors had the chance to engage with current students who shared their experiences, explained their coursework, and offered a glimpse into the dynamic world of healthcare education at SIMHSI.
Campus tours were conducted across all three institutions, SISC, SISFU, and SIMHSI, allowing visitors to explore classrooms, laboratories, learning spaces, and student facilities. These tours helped prospective students visualize what it would be like to study in each program, especially those interested in pursuing MedTech, RadTech, or Pharmacy in the future.
To cap off the event, attendees gathered for a film showing of the first episode of the final season of Stranger Things, tying the theme together and giving everyone a moment to unwind after an activity-filled day.
The SGEN Open House successfully combined creativity, exploration, and academic engagement, leaving visitors with a deeper understanding of what it means to become a part of the Southville family, and what exciting possibilities lie ahead for future Medical Technologists, Radiologic Technologists, Pharmacists, and all aspiring Southville students.
