Before the sun even rose on November 29, the Southville community was already gathered at Filinvest for the annual Run for a Cause. With a call time of 4:30 AM, participants from the Medical Technology, Radiologic Technology, and Pharmacy programs, along with their dedicated faculty, arrived energized and ready to take part in a meaningful morning dedicated to health, unity, and advocacy.
Despite the early hour, the atmosphere was lively as MedTech, RadTech, and Pharmacy students warmed up together, prepared their gear, and shared their excitement before the official start. The strong turnout from SIMHSI’s healthcare programs highlighted the college’s commitment to wellness, discipline, and community involvement, reflecting the values essential to future medical professionals.
Runners chose among three challenging distances, 3 kilometers, 5 kilometers, and a daring 10 kilometers. Whether pacing themselves with classmates or sprinting toward the finish line, participants from all three programs showed determination, teamwork, and enthusiasm. The diversity of runners, from first-year students to senior-level faculty, created a powerful display of unity and shared purpose.
Faculty members from the three departments ran alongside their students, strengthening relationships beyond the classroom and reinforcing the supportive culture of SIMHSI. The scenic Filinvest route, paired with the cool morning atmosphere, made the run even more invigorating as participants challenged themselves both physically and mentally.
The Run for a Cause was more than a fitness event, it was a celebration of community spirit and a reflection of SIMHSI’s dedication to producing well-rounded, service-driven healthcare professionals. Every step taken by the MedTech, RadTech, and Pharmacy students and faculty embodied the values of resilience, wellness, and solidarity that define the Southville spirit.
