Research Mission and Objectives
The college’s research mission is to foster an environment that supports academic inquiry, critical thinking, and knowledge creation across disciplines. The college’s research agenda is founded in SGEN’s 5 C core values: Character, Competence, Collaboration, Creativity, and Commitment. Research objectives include:
a. Promoting high-quality research among faculty and students.
b. Encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration.
c. Facilitating opportunities for students to gain hands-on research experience.
d. Supporting research that addresses community and societal needs.
SSLC Research Agenda (R.I.S.E. initiative)
South SEED LPDH College believes in research as an indispensable tool for both community and academic growth. The research thrust of SSLC’s three program offerings, namely Medical Technology, Pharmacy, and Radiologic Technology, is focused on Research for Innovation, Sustainability, and Empowerment (R.I.S.E). The agenda is focused mainly on answering the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations. Specifically, the research agenda is divided into three aspects based on the program offerings of SSLC:
C.L.E.A.R.E.D (Clinical Laboratory and Environmental Acquired Risks Evaluation and Detection) – for Medical Technology
P.R.I.M.E.S. (Pharmaceutical practice, Research, and Innovation on Medicinal plants and other Sources) – for Pharmacy
I.M.A.G.E. (Imaging Methods developments and Advancement for Global Excellence) – for Radiologic Technology

Code of Conduct
All researchers must conduct research with honesty, integrity, and respect for all participants. Researchers should avoid conflicts of interest and disclose any potential biases during and after the conduct of the research or before its publication. Plagiarism of work will not be tolerated and will be sanctioned according to the penalties stipulated in both the students and faculty manual of the college. Researchers are expected to promote a collaborative, supportive research environment among each other.
Research Management Council
The Research Management Council (RMC) aims to improve research quality within the department and responsibly disseminate the results and findings to the scientific community. The RMC seeks to convert student-driven basic research into publishable works in ISI/Scopus-indexed and high-impact factor journals through the assistance of qualified, competent, and ethical research advisers. Specifically, the RMC is created for three purposes, which are: (1) Empower, facilitate, and unify South SEED LPDH Colleges’ research agenda, which is necessary for accreditation, linkage purposes, and a responsible contribution to the scientific community. (2) Standardize the departmental protocols and processes in research formulation, monitoring, and evaluation., and (3) Ensure that the department will provide only the best, well-qualified, and ethically centered professionals to guide students and colleagues in their research endeavors.
